Winter Writing Workshops with Eloise Williams

Over the next month, Children’s Laureate Wales, Eloise Williams, will release a series of free online writing workshops for ages 7-14 to continue to engage and inspire the children and young people of Wales during these ongoing challenging times.

With the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to put physical events and workshops on hold, schools will be able to run these online workshops in their classrooms.

These four sets of workshops will each consist of six short videos for teachers to play in front of their class, with various exercises and tasks for the pupils to complete between each video. Workshops can be completed in as little as an hour or spread over a week to suit each classroom’s needs.

Accompanying resources for pupils, as well as guidance sheets for teachers, will be available beforehand on the Winter Writing Workshops page. The workshops will remain online for schools to run at a time convenient for them.

Win a school visit, book bundle, and Children’s Laureate Wales notebooks

Schools are encouraged to share pictures and videos of their workshops taking place, and of pupils reading the work they created during the workshops.

The most creative entry will receive a free school visit by Eloise (when COVID-19 restrictions allow), a signed bundle of Eloise’s books for the school library, and a Children’s Laureate Wales notebook each for a whole class- a lovely Christmas present! Content shared between 11 November – 11 December will be eligible to win the prizes.
