Lit in Place: Previous projects and impact

Between 2022 and 2025, Llên Mewn Lle | Lit in Place delivered five creative writing projects across Wales, working with communities in Gwynedd, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Swansea and Pembrokeshire. Across the programme, 105 workshops and events were delivered, with a total of 1,015 attendances, reflecting both the scale of the initiative and the depth of engagement within each place.

Rooted in specific landscapes and languages, each project used creative writing to explore climate change and biodiversity, support wellbeing and strengthen connections between people and place. Supported by WWF Cymru, Llên Mewn Lle | Lit in Place demonstrates the power of arts-led, place-based practice to embed climate awareness into everyday life and foster lasting cultural, environmental and social legacies.
