Milly’s journey into writing was initiated by performance, both in theatre and as an oral storyteller. Her expression through words has been honed by crafting them into scripts for shows, or by spontaneous ‘in the moment’ transmissions. This has given her the unique opportunity to experience first hand the direct effects of these words on the listener, discovering the power of simple images to stimulate imaginations and create worlds. Milly is now stepping into authoring longer pieces to be either read or listened to as audio recordings. She has composed poetry inspired by, and poetic reworkings of Welsh mythology. Previous literary outputs include a collection of tree tales and Milly is currently writing an expanded version of her most recent storytelling show, Mochyn Myrddin/Merlin’s Pig to enable her to include more of the intriguing discoveries her research has unearthed, as well as elements arising from her own rich imaginings. The intention is for this to be both a physical and audio book. Future works may well be inspired by myths, folk and fairy tales and by Millys interest in ancient history.
