Shazz grew up in Dorset, dreaming of living on an Island. She’s spent most of her adult life living on Ynys Môn, connecting wiht her Welsh lineage.
Her novel-in-progress examines themes of widowing, with an abyss-black sense of humour.
She is also writing her memoir of a solo woman backpacker with multiple health challenges and disabilities.
She is a 2025 winner of the JKP writing prize.
When her career as a health professional collapsed, she took an Open University Creative Writing course. Since then, she’s completed several online courses ranging from Undergraduate to master’s level study with Oxford University, Arvon Foundation, Raw Writing and Adult Learning Wales.
She is an active member of several online and community based writing groups. She hosts online writing groups, delivers presentations and has developed a network of writing buddies, exchanging work for feedback.
