Sioned started writing in 2020 and since then she has published eight books for children and adults. The Ffwlbart Ffred story-and-picture series was published by Atebol in 2020 -2021 and Ni a Nhw in 2024. Sioned is the author of Gwag y Nos, Wyneb yn Wyneb and Y Garthen, a trilogy of Victorian adventure novels for young people aged 10-13 (Atebol 2021-2025). This year Dicw Dwm-Bo, an easy-to-read comedy novel for primary school children, was published by Y Lolfa.
Madws, Sioned’s first novel for adults, was published by Gwasg y Bwthyn last year. Madws was nominated in the fiction category Wales Book of the Year 2025. Gwag y Nos won the Tir na n-Og award and was nominated for Wales Book of the Year in 2022. Wyneb yn Wyneb was on the Tir na n-Og shortlist in 2024, and Ni a Nhw on the Tir na n-Og 2025 shortlist.
At the moment, Sioned is writing a new novel for adults, to be published by Gwasg y Bwthyn in the summer of 2026.
During her career Sioned has been S4C’s children and young people’s content commissioner and a senior producer at the BBC. Before joining the media she was a history teacher in Wales and abroad. Originally from Pwllheli, she lives in Cardiff with her husband and two children.
