Sam Christie is a writer based in mid Wales. His novel Compass was longlisted for the Bridport Prize Peggy Chapman-Andrews Award 2021, he was second place in the Writers’ and Artists’ Short Story of the Year Award 2022, was joint second place in the Planet International Essay Competition 2022 and was third place in the 2023 New Welsh Writers’ Award (writing as Sam Lewis). He has published prose and poetry in literary journals in both the UK and the USA. Sam worked in forestry for several years and many of his stories look back on this time.
Sam was the winner of The Rheidol Prize: for Prose with a Welsh Theme or Setting 2025.
