Biography

I am a writer from Swansea who has written a couple of historical novels set during the Second Punic War about the Numidian king Masinissa and the Carthaginian aristocrat Sophonisba. Both are quite significant figures from history and have been depicted many times in various art forms. For instance, Sophonisba was the central figure in the very first epic movie in history, Cabiria, which played in theatres worldwide in 1914. Masinissa became the first King of a unified Numidia and is still revered today across North Africa and the Sahel region as the founding father of the Amazigh/Berber people. I intend to continue writing novels. My current work in progress does have more Welsh elements and features scenes in Morriston, Swansea and Rhossili, the last being inspired by the short story “Who do you wish was with us” by Dylan Thomas. I work within the education sector, most of the time within about half a mile from where Dylan was born and grew up!
