Biography

Born in Cardiff, I now live just outside Bristol. Writing since I was 8 years old, I have won many national and local short story competitions. I gained an MPhil in Writing from the University of Glamorgan, (now the University of South Wales) and my first novel, Missing Nancy, was published by Accent Press. My work has appeared in anthologies from Honno, Route Magazine, the New Welsh Review and Mslexia. I’ve worked as a creative writing tutor for many years and have published two text books, based on my teaching methods. A new collection of short stories, Some Sort of Twilight was published in May 2022 by Watermark Press and I’ve completed a PhD in Creative Writing at Swansea University for which I wrote a new novel. My research is on the way ageing is portrayed in contemporary fiction. I work as a creative writing tutor in schools, colleges and adult education centres and I have worked as a tutor for the MS Society in Wales.
