Gillian Brownson is a Writer, Poet, Storyteller, Actor & illustrator who works both in the Community and on commercial projects across North Wales and Nationally. She writes, illustrates and Performs Stories, Poetry, Film and Drama for Creative Partners such as Walk the Plank, Creu Conwy, Ports, Past & Present and Beyond the Border International Storytelling Festival. She regularly works with the Centre for Arthurian Studies at Bangor University as a Storyteller in Residence. Currently, Gillian is one of the ‘Writing Well’ cohort for Literature Well, developing work with Children and Young People who have experienced Trauma and Poverty. She is also part of the Public Map Platform for Cambridge University, working as a Bardic Practitioner. Again, this work geared towards children, co-creating original poetry, stories, illustrations and podcasts.
Her work can be heard on the internationally renowned podcast, Super Great Kids Stories, and her illustrated Book, ‘The Mermaid’s Purse and Other Stories in Rhyme’, continues to sell from independent book shops.
