Biography

Zoë Brigley has three poetry collections (from Bloodaxe): The Secret (2007), Conquest (2012) and Hand & Skull (2019). Her recent chabooks include Aubade After A French Movie (Broken Sleep Books 2020) and Into Eros (Verve 2021). She is editor with Kristian Evans of the anthology 100 Poems to Save the Earth (Seren 2021).

She also writes prose. Her collection of nonfiction essays, Notes from A Swing State, was published by Parthian in 2019. She co-wrote a chapbook of essays and letters on nature and magic with Kristian Evans: Otherworlds (Broken Sleep, 2021). She is currently working on a collection of short stories, the first of which was published in Waxwing in 2020.

She has worked in anti-violence advocacy and she co-edited the academic volume, Feminism, Literature and Rape Narratives (Routledge 2010), as well as publishing essays on representations of violence in various peer-review journals. She runs an anti-violence podcast: Sinister Myth.

She works at the Ohio State University and is editor of Poetry Wales.
