Biography

Anne Elizabeth Williams was educated at Ysgol Dyffryn Nantlle, Pen-y-groes and the University College of North Wales, Bangor. After graduating in Welsh, she went on to study for a Diploma in Palaeography and Archive Administration and to complete a Doctorate on Gwilym Tew, a 15th century poet, and his manuscript, Peniarth 51. Following a period working for Gwynedd Archives Service in Caernarfon, she was appointed by the Welsh Folk Museum, St. Fagans, to undertake research in Folk Medicine.  She then worked as a freelance translator for over twenty years until her retirement.
