Biography

Jo Heyde is a poet from London, originally, but who lives for a large proportion of her time in Tenby. She began learning Welsh towards the end of 2018, and two years later she learned the poetic art of the ‘cynghanedd’, before turning to writing poetry in 2021. She published her first pamphlet, The Crossing Song, (Cyhoeddiadau’r Stamp) in 2024, and her volume, A Quarter Second, (Barddas) in 2025. She was the guest editor of the anthology, Christmas Treasures, (Barddas, 2025). She is a member of the Camarthen Poetry School and the Talwrn team, Y Derwyddon. She also coordinates the Poet of the Month scheme on behalf of Barddas.

Her poems have appeared in Ffosfforws 2-7, MODRON 4 and the anthology, O Ffrwyth y Gangen Hon, as well as in Barddas magazine. She was one of the poets who was classed as worthy of the chair in the Eisteddfod in Wrexham, 2025.
