With the support of Welsh Government, we are helping schools deliver dynamic creative writing workshops by Welsh writers of colour. We are doing this by offering to pay 50% of the writer’s fee.
Deadline for applications: Friday 13 January, 2023

The aim is that the writers delivering Cymru Ni | Our Wales workshops will inspire learners to imaginatively explore our modern Wales, helping them to become ‘ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world.’ Schools can apply for Cymru Ni | Our Wales funding via Literature Wales, after approaching a writer and agreeing a suitable date and time with them. The workshops can be on any topic but must be delivered by a writer of colour who is based in Wales or has a strong Welsh connection.

These creative learning experiences will assist schools in meeting the recommendations contained in the “Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Communities, Contributions and Cynefin in the New Curriculum Working Group” report by Professor Charlotte Williams OBE.

Typically, the school workshops will last 2-hours and can be delivered to a class of Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3 learners. This is a limited time offer, and workshops should be booked to take place before the end of March 2023.

Find out how to take advantage of this offer by visiting the Cymru Ni | Our Wales project page.

We anticipate a high demand. Book your workshops now!
