Collaborating with Folding Rock to Celebrate 5 Years of Representing Wales
Literature Wales and Folding Rock, are joining forces for the special issue of the literary magazine, which will be published on 12 November 2026 to celebrate five years of Representing Wales, one of Literature Wales’ leading writer development programmes.
Each year, writers who feel under-represented in Wales’ literary sector are invited to apply for a space on the Representing Wales programme. Participants receive a financial bursary, a series of one-to-one mentoring sessions, face-to-face and online workshops and talks, as well as opportunities to network, make new contacts and build relationships with writers and people working across the literature and publishing industries in Wales and beyond.
Following the 12-month programme, Literature Wales continues to support each cohort, working with writers and partners to ensure they have access to the advice, opportunities and support they need to pursue their long-term literary ambitions.
Titled Treigl,(trans: Passage of Time) this collaborative and bilingual edition of Folding Rock will showcase work by Representing Wales alumni Paz Koloman Kaiba, Emily Burnett, Natasha Gauthier, Marged Elen Wiliam, Taz Rahman, Hanan Issa, Jon Doyle, Marvin Thompson, Anthony Shapland, Sioned Erin Hughes, Ed Garland, Manon Steffan Ros, Lesley James, Rhiannon Fielder-Hobbs, Steffan Wilson-Jones and Ben Huxley.
Folding Rock Magazine publishes English-language short fiction, creative non-fiction and literary criticism from Wales and beyond. For this special edition, Poetry Wales and guest editor Alys Coran have also collaborated with the project, enabling poetry and Welsh-language liteature to feature for the first time in this showcase of the work of Representing Wales alumni.
