Announcing 6 mentors for the Sgwennu’n Well | Writing Well Cohort 2025-2026
Each year, the Sgwennu’n Well | Writing Well cohort is offered bespoke mentoring with an established literary facilitator of their choice.

Sgwennu’n Well | Writing Well is a 15-month development programme for literary facilitators in Wales. Its focus is to develop and enhance the skills and knowledge needed to facilitate literary activities in the community, specifically in the field of Health and Well-being.

Mentoring sessions is a key element of the programme. The Mentors and facilitators will discuss, develop and explore approaches to literary facilitation specifically within Health and Well-being, as well as share personal experiences of their respective journeys. Each pair will meet several times during the year, with sessions covering a range of topics and themes, from planning workshops to reflection and evaluation. The sessions are designed to be as bespoke as possible, with each partnership working towards achieving the literary facilitator’s individual aims.

Iola Ynyr, one of the Sgwennu’n Well | Writing Well 2023-2024 mentors said: “It was a pleasure to discuss ideas in depth and to be inspired as well. Mentoring has been a golden opportunity to think broadly and set ambitions in a safe atmosphere with a young and talented artist.”

This year’s mentors include: Sanah Ahsan, Eloise Williams, Alex Wharton, Helen McSherry, Sian Melangell-Dafydd and clare e.potter. Further information can be found on the project page.
