What happens when the welfare state fails the people who depend on it?

A Sorry State explores the realities of navigating a broken welfare system in Wales, challenging the rhetoric that vilifies those who rely on state support.

Produced in collaboration with people with lived experience of disability, the project brings together photography, installation, sculpture and performance, translating their experiences of the welfare system into artwork.

Jack Moyse is a photographer and artist based in Swansea, whose practice focuses on societal issues including ableism and mental health.
