Celebrating 10 Years in 2026, the Llandeilo Literature Festival celebrates ten years of writing, culture and creativity in the beautiful market town of Llandeilo, nestled at the foothills of
Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons National Park).

The festival presents a rich and varied programme of authors, poets, playwrights, storytellers, artists and musicians, with events in both Welsh and English. It is one of the few festivals in Wales to embrace bilingual programming so fully, reflecting the diversity and vitality of Welsh cultural life.
Across the weekend, audiences can enjoy thought-provoking talks, poetry readings, live performances and interactive creative workshops. A vibrant children’s festival runs alongside the main programme, offering imaginative storytelling, hands-on making and playful creativity for young audiences and families.

Inclusivity is at the heart of the festival. Over half of all events are held in Welsh, with translation available at adult sessionsto ensure accessibility. The programme champions representation and diversity, amplifying voices from across communities, and proudly includes Pride@LitFest, delivered in partnership with Pride Llandeilo, celebrating LGBTQ+ stories and perspectives.
Since launching in 2016, the festival has grown from a small book fair into one of South Wales’s leading literary events. Named Best Event in Carmarthenshire by the Carmarthenshire Tourism Association in 2024, the Llandeilo Literature Festival continues to thrive as a welcoming celebration of Welsh and English languages, culture and the arts — offering something for everyone, from devoted readers to families discovering the joy of stories.
