Biography

Natasha Borton is a theatre-maker, poet, and community cultural facilitator based in Wrexham. Her work centres on co-creation, using theatre and spoken word to empower communities and share stories that are often unheard. She creates accessible and collaborative work rooted in lived experience, with a focus on amplifying underrepresented voices.

Natasha has developed and toured original performances nationally and internationally, blending theatre and spoken word to explore themes of identity, belonging, and resilience. She was co-lead artist on A Proper Ordinary Miracle with National Theatre Wales TEAM, and her debut chapbook, Signed Asbestos, was runner-up for the Erbacce Prize. She also won the Poetry Wales Second Prize, and her work has been commissioned by National Theatre Wales, Wrexham Poverty Action Group, Wrexham County Borough Council, Chester Pride, and Donmar Warehouse.

As the founder and Artistic Director of Voicebox Wxm, Natasha creates platforms for emerging artists and diverse voices. She also works with national organisations on engagement strategies and cultural policy. Natasha is a trustee for AVOW and an advisor to Wrecsam 2029, Wrexham’s UK City of Culture bid.

Holding an MA in Creative Writing from Edge Hill University and specialist training in accessibility, Natasha is committed to building an equitable cultural sector. She is currently writing her debut poetry collection, developing a play about motherhood and neonatal care, and launching a Poetry Producers Lab to train the next generation of artists.
