Brad Carr is an essayist & poet, artist, and creative practitioner from Mid Wales. In his mid-twenties, on the cusp of mature masculinity, the artist turned to the safe embrace of Mother Nature to find peace, purpose, and a sense of belonging following some turbulent formative years.
These feelings of peace and tranquility are reflected in his spiritual-like photographs and his written words about the creative process, nature, and belonging, which come straight from the soul. His debut, upcoming photobook, aptly titled ‘Finding Light’, boasts tremendous depth and meaning, and helps to tell an inspiring story of Brad’s personal connection to the landscape and the spirit of Nature that he hopes can serve to stand as an inspiration to others to turn towards the natural world at a time when humanity is in desperate need of reconnection.
Having landed multiple publications in Outdoor Photography, On Landscape, Nature Vision Magazine, and International Therapist, Brad’s future as a writer, artist, and creative practitioner is becoming increasingly bright.
He also works directly with other artists as a mentor, helping them refine their artistic vision and unearth their creative voice through transformational workshops and mentoring programmes. His mentoring services have been recognised by the Royal Photographic Society, with whom he has worked on numerous occasions. In 2024, he delivered a ten-week Arts Council of Wales-funded project for children, engaging them with the natural world and encouraging them to explore their relationships with nature through creative writing. He has also delivered further creative wellbeing projects funded by the Arts Council of Wales, MIND, Arts Connection, and Plas Glyn y Weddw.
