Griffin Books are delighted to announce that we have joined forces with three independent bookshops in Ireland to bring you a very special evening in the company of bestselling Irish novelists Graham Norton and Anne Griffin. This unmissable online event, hosted by Griffin Books, and Ireland’s A Tale of Three Indies collective (Antonia’s Bookstore, The Maynooth Bookshop and Woodbine Books), will take place on Thursday 6 May via Zoom.

Graham Norton is one of our most treasured comedians and presenters. His third novel, Home Stretch, became an instant bestseller – both in the UK and Ireland – when it was published in hardback last year. Anne Griffin’s debut novel, When All is Said, was a Number One bestseller in Ireland and chosen as the Sunday Independent Newcomer of the Year in the 2019 An Post Irish Book Awards. Her highly anticipated second novel, Listening Still, is published on 29 April. The event will be chaired by Hannah MacInnes.

Graham’s compelling new novel, Home Stretch, begins with a car crash the night before a wedding. Six young people are in the car and only three survive. The story follows the driver over the following decades and the stigma, secrets and consequences of that night. Set in 1980s Ireland and New York in the noughties, this is Graham’s storytelling at its best: intelligently plotted, darkly knowing and, as ever, beautifully told.

Jeanie Masterson has a gift: she can hear the recently dead and give voice to their final wishes and revelations – a talent which is both a gift and a curse. In Listening Still, Anne Griffin’s captivating second novel, she portrays a young woman who is torn between duty, a comfortable marriage and a role she both loves and hates and her last chance to break free.

This is truly an event not to be missed!
