Maggie Harris is a great friend of P&P@theQ. Originally from Guyana her first collection of poetry “Limbolands” won the Guyana prize for literature in 2000. Maggie spent ten years in the Carmarthenshire village of Cwmpengraig and her short story collection “writing on Water” published by Seren in 2017 marked her adoption as a writer of Wales.

Along with Mel Perry and Jackie Biggs, Maggie is a member of “The Rockhoppers”, a poetry performance group. Maggie has now settled closer to her family in Kent but her most recent poetry collection, “On Watching a Lemon sail the Sea” which is her 9th published volume, is inspired by Aberporth beach on Cardigan Bay. It’s great to welcome Maggie back for her special guest slot among our readers at this spoken-word open-mic event, entry is £3 to include a raffle ticket.
