Morning Pages
Morning Pages: this workshop is part of a series of four consecutive workshops taking place in the Maker Space at Penarth Library, on the mornings of the 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th of August, from 10 to 11am.
Join Sophie Buchaillard for a blend of breathing exercises and writing prompts to start your day and explore the benefits of ‘morning pages’ a practice of free writing coined by Julia Cameron and which many authors use as part of their creative practice, Sophie included. The idea is to start the day by ‘emptying your mind’ onto the page as a way to make space for creative thinking. It is good fun, and there is mounting research that shows it can contribute to a healthy mind.
About the facilitator: Sophie is the author of two novels and a dozen novels, a counsellor and well-being facilitator with a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing from Cardiff University. She has been nominated for Wales Book of the Year and the Bridport Prize; is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of Lapidus International.
