Laura is a writer and psychologist working with dreams for creative purposes. She leads dream groups and workshops with writers, having developed a new model for creative writing that utilises liminal, lucid, and non-lucid dreams – The Dream-Inspired Model of Creative Writing (DICW). As a professional screenwriter, Laura has integrated dreams into her own work for years and now aims to help others adopt a more internal and authentic approach to writing through Lucid Story.

As part of her recently completed doctoral research, Laura conducted experimental studies with writers. Her work has been published in the International Journal of Dream Research, for which she also served as a reviewer. She was also a reviewer for the journal Dreaming. Furthermore, she presented her research at the London Arts-Based Research Centre international transdisciplinary conference Science and Sensibility, and multiple times at the International Association for the Study of Dreams Annual Conference, chairing a research symposium there last year. In an article for the Guardian, she shared her research findings, and she frequently contributes to Psychology Today with her column. In addition, she leads monthly dream groups with Swansea Therapy Rooms, and biweekly dream groups focusing on creatively expressing dreams at the Swansea Wellbeing Centre.

On the creative side, she published the poetry collection The Broken God in 2019, contributed the short story Tally Marks to VAINE’s issue on Dreams in 2022, and her short story The Loophole appeared in the sci-fi anthology Dark Horses alongside Alan Moore in 2023. For the past nine years, she has worked as a freelance lyricist and screenwriter, writing feature-length scripts and pilots for a BAFTA-nominated director and a Grammy-nominated MD, among others. Her work further includes short dramas for in-app mini-series, educational and commercial content, and scripts for a science-based YouTube channel with 10 million subscribers. Most recently, she worked as a Show Lead for a US-based audio entertainment platform with 100M listeners, and as a Series Development Manager for a UK-based production company. Her most recent freelance work includes scripting a docuseries for the European Space Agency on the history of satellite navigation.
