Following the release of Cardiff 75, a collection of writings from across our beautiful city, come join us at The Wellfield Bookshop for readings followed by a Q&A session, on Saturday 10 June from 1.30 – 2.30pm. Copies of the book will be available to purchase at the event, and tea, coffee & biscuits will be provided by the bookshop.

Cardiff Writers’ Circle was formed in 1947 and is joined here by other local writing groups, all lending their imaginations to a wide variety of styles, genres, and formats. A fun fact about the title: ‘Cardiff 75’ is a celebration of 75 years of creative writing in Cardiff, and there are 75 pieces in the collection! It has been described as “a big box of marvels, abuzz with distinctive voices and vivid tales” and “a testament to the ability of creative writing groups to energise and inspire” – so come along, hear from the authors, and pick up your own copy of ‘Cardiff 75’, a snapshot of the fantastic talent that exists today in Cardiff, city of the dragon.

Established in 1982, The Wellfield Bookshop is a family-run independent bookshop and has stood firmly in the heart of Roath and grown with the community around it. It is one of the few remaining independent bookshops in Cardiff. Their continued presence over 40 plus years contributes to the vibrance of the high street whilst serving as a platform to promote local talent and showcase the diversity of our beautiful Cardiff.

Numbers are limited, so please book tickets to avoid disappointment – free tickets can be booked on Eventbrite:
