Lead artist: Iola Ynyr | Welsh-language

Led by Iola Ynyr, Gwledda worked with parents and children from the Rhosgadfan community, initially focusing on families from low-income backgrounds before opening to the wider school community at Ysgol Rhosgadfan. Delivered in Welsh for first-language speakers and learners, the project prioritised wellbeing, confidence-building and community connection. Participants explored climate change and biodiversity through outdoor activities including nature walks, bug-house building and creative writing that examined the relationship between the Welsh language and the land. Delivered in partnership with GwyrddNi, North Wales Wildlife Trust and Gwynedd County Council, the project combined learning with action, culminating in the planting of over 30 trees. A permanent wooden sculpture of Kate Roberts’ cloak, now installed at Cae’r Gors, marks the project’s legacy and has inspired ongoing community action.
