Biography

Sarah KilBride is the author of the well-loved picture book series, Princess Evie’s Ponies (Simon and Schuster) which has sold over a million copies worldwide and her young reader books in the series are currently enjoying success in the US published with Aladdin. Her other titles include Being a Princess is Very Hard Work (Bloomsbury) and A Cuddle and a Cwtch (Graffeg), ‘a perfect as a stocking-filler for a loved one, this book is full of warmth and fun.’ Jenny White, Western Mail.
She started writing plays for young people whilst acting and also worked on the revised editions of Ladybird Well Loved Tales and the popular SpongeBob Squarepants early readers.
Passionate to nurture a love of words and story, Sarah has delivered workshops at all the main literature festivals, in schools and libraries and with literacy charities, using drama and collaborative writing activities that inspire creativity. This work is inclusive and participants include babies and toddlers, Pupil Referral Units, residencies at Special Schools and with the families of children with life-changing medical conditions.
She was the recipient of a Literature Wales Writer’s Bursary that enabled her to complete her YA novel, Voodoo Granny.
Returning to the Black Mountains with her family in mid Wales, Sarah continues to write fiction and work with young people and families promoting literature that stirs the imagination and feeds the soul.
