A Poet, performer, broadcaster and linguist, Aneirin Karadog has many strings to his bow. He won the National Eisteddfod Chair in 2016 with a sequence of poems on the theme of frontiers. He is a member of the Y Deheubarth team at the annual Ymryson of the poets and has won several awards for his poetry: the Emyr Feddyg scholarship at the Newport National Eisteddfod, the Chair of the Urdd in Cardiff 2005 and the Poetry Book of the Year category 2013 with his first volume O Annwn i Geltia (Cyhoeddiadau Barddas) and then again with his second volume ‘Bylchau’ (Cyhoeddiadau Barddas) in the Book of the Year 2017. He co-presents and co-produces a Welsh Poetic podcast with Eurig Salisbury called ‘Clera’, with new episodes monthly since October 2016. In 2019 he published another volume of poems, Llafargan (Barddas Publications) as well as a book about The Breton Language, ‘Byw Iaith: Taith i Fyd y Llydaweg’ (Gwasg carreg gwalch). Aneirin was the Children’s Poet of Wales 2013-15. He has also translated and adapted over a dozen books for children and young people from English and French into welsh.
