Al Mish’aal project: community lunch and free activities day
Al Mish’aal is a new project run by the arts organisation Gentle/Radical from their new base at the newly refurbished Wyndham Street Centre.
Gentle/Radical are well-known for their grassroots projects and cultural events that reach all parts of the community. Over the next year, through the Al Mish’aal project, they will be hosting breakfast clubs, multicultural film and food nights, reading groups, poetry evenings and many more activities.
You can find out more about their programme at their free activities day on Saturday 5 October 2019 at Wyndham Street Centre.
Saturday’s event will be a morning and afternoon of creativity for all ages, with artist-run workshops to include lino printing, collaging, cardboard sculpture and more.
Come and join a workshop, see the new Riverside community library, and meet neighbours for a free vegetarian lunch.
You will also have a chance to reserve tickets for the October line-up at Wyndham Street Centre which will include: a Black History Month screening, their first multicultural Sunday breakfast for local residents, a talk on how to survive work under capitalism, a Halloween family screening, and the Where I’m Coming From spoken-word collective showcasing the best of BAME writers and poets in South Wales.
The event runs from 10 am to 2 pm.
