Reading and Conversation with Katie Munnik at Waterstones Swansea

THE AERIALISTS is a rich historical novel based on the true story of Louisa Maud Evans, a fourteen-year old girl who died during the Great Exhibition in Cardiff, 1896, and captured the imagination of the city.

Described by author Mahsuda Snaith as “a heady and stylish read,” The Aerialists intertwines real and invented histories, while exploring the many risky ways girls are expected to perform.

Katie Munnik is a Canadian writer living in Cardiff. In 2017, she won the Borough Press Open Submission, and her debut novel, The Heart Beats in Secret, was a USA Today Bestseller. Her prose, poetry and creative non-fiction have been published in magazines, journals and newspapers in the UK and Canada.
