The Children’s Laureate Wales visits a number of schools, clubs, libraries, festivals and events across Wales, as well as devises and delivers bespoke activity with Literature Wales’ target client groups.

To arrange a Children’s Laureate Wales school visit, please complete the application form below. To discuss other activity, email Literature Wales on: childrenslaureate@literaturewales.org.

The cost for a 2-hour workshop is £200*. This includes all expenses and travel costs and is the same for every school across Wales regardless of location. School workshops usually take place either between 9.30-11.30 am or 1.00-3.00 pm.

*Financial support is available through Literature Wales’ Writers on Tour funding scheme which enables the organiser to apply for up to 50% of a writer’s fee. Further information about the Writers on Tour funding scheme, including the application process and deadlines, can be found here

Visits are usually arranged at least 2 months in advance. We strongly advise that you apply as soon as possible if you would like to arrange a school visit. Please note: demand for a visit from the Children’s Laureate Wales is high and submitting an application form does not guarantee a visit.

Please note: Visiting writers should never be left without another adult from the organisation when working with children or vulnerable adults. Writers are NOT teachers and at least one teacher must always remain with the writer in school.

Eloise Williams has a current DBS certificate. Proof of DBS is available upon request.
