Apply for a visit

Bardd Plant Cymru visits a number of schools, clubs, festivals and events across Wales annually. You can apply for a visit by completing the form below.

We are currently accepting applications for a visit from Gruffudd Owen for the period September 2019-August 2020.

We usually arrange visits at least 2 months in advance. We strongly advise that you apply as soon as possible if you’re interested. Demand for a visit from Bardd Plant Cymru is high, and there’s no guarantee that we’ll be able to offer you a visit. We assess each application individually, and take into account the aims of the scheme and the priorities of the partners.

Bardd Plant Cymru’s fee is paid by the scheme, but we ask all who receive a visit to pay a £75 contribution which goes towards travel costs. Literature Wales will invoice after the visit.

It’s very important to us that all can apply, whatever their financial situation. If you cannot afford to pay the above contribution, please indicate this on the form.

Gruffudd Owen has a current DBS certificate. Please let us know if you need to see proof of this.

School workshops

A significant part of Bardd Plant Cymru’s work programme is running creative writing workshops in schools. A standard school workshop lasts for two hours. Successful schools will be offered either a morning slot (9.30-11.30am) or an afternoon slot (1-3pm). We can only offer one workshop per school (for a maximum of 30 children), and to make the most of that workshop, it will not be possible to split the workshop into two.

If your school has more than one class per year, we may be able to offer more than one workshop. Please note this on the form.
