Join the Young People’s Laureate for London*, Theresa Lola, and Wales’ first ever Children’s Laureate, Eloise Williams, to create compelling and engaging content for young adults. Exploring both poetry and prose, we will look at what might appeal to different readers aged 12-25, and how we can speak to them in a way that is meaningful and genuine. We’ll consider themes that are important to young adults including mental health, relationships, politics, the future of our planet and other various challenges, hopes and dreams. In workshops, one-to-one and group discussions, and by reading popular YA literature aloud we will look at language, dialogue and identifiable characters. By the end of the courses you’ll have the skills, ideas and enthusiasm to continue with your own poems and stories at home.

*(until April 2020)
