Polly SnapePolly Snape grew up in East Yorkshire and trained as a primary school teacher in York. She taught both infants and juniors for 6 years before leaving teaching to become an independent education consultant. For the last twelve years she has worked in schools and theatres throughout the UK, writing and directing plays, training teachers and using stories to help deliver all aspects of the curriculum.

She now lives in Llanelidan, near Ruthin, in Denbighshire and is a Welsh learner. In 2009 she was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship to work with children in Brazil, Borneo, Australia and the Maldives to write stories about the impact of climate change on different parts of the world. Some of those stories can be found at www.smallstepsbigideas.co.uk

In 2011, Polly worked with children from Denbigh to write her first published book, The North Wales Hospital as part of a local history research project. The Granny and Grandad stories are 24 short stories for children that are also written in a simple playscript format. 12 Christmas stories are currently available on CD and can be read in English at www.grannyandgrandad.co.uk  or in Welsh at www.nainataid.co.uk
