Damian Harvey was born in Lancashire, but now lives in Flintshire with his lovely lady, Vicky. He has three wonderful girls, one brilliant boy and a cat called Polly.
After working as a painter and decorator, an assistant in a book and record store, a swimming teacher and lifeguard, getting a university degree and working in a boring office doing a boring job, Damian now spends his time writing for young children. Damian has written more than fifty books (and lots of poems) for primary school age children and is busy writing more.
When he’s not busy writing, Damian spends his time visiting schools and libraries where he shares stories, talks about books and writing and generally gets children enthused and excited about books and writing stories for themselves.
Damian is a member of the National Association of Writers in Education, The Federation of Children’s Book Groups, and the Society of Authors. For further details about Damian’s Performance Sessions and Writing Workshops please visit his website or contact him directly.

Gail Courtenay - Primary Coordinator Haut-Lac |International Bilingual School, Vevey, Switzerland.
"After reading a couple of Damian's book with my own son, I invited Damian to my school for a story telling day to coincide with a school book fair. The children and staff were not disappointed! Damian brought to life lots of old and new stories and told them in a brilliantly funny and interactive way - the children were eating out of his hands within the first five minutes! The fact he managed to engage all our children, from nursery to Y6 was amazing. The teachers learned a lot about the art of story telling too! I have no hesitation in recommending Damian to any school. We are looking foward to booking him for a story writing workshop day."
Philip Ivory - Deputy Headteacher, St George's C.E. Primary, Westhoughton, Bolton"
"Thank you very much for a fantastic day in school. We have received a huge amount of positive feedback from children staff and parents. Everyone enjoyed the high energy delivery of the workshops. Your input on the day was the best possible way to promote the opening of our new school library and stimulate reading in school."
