He also spends a proportion of the year working in St Davids and is an enthusiastic advocate of the West Wales arts scene.
Over the years, Nigel has written material for many celebrities including Lenny Henry, Caroline Quentin, Jonathan Ross, Rob Brydon, Mel Smith & Griff Rhys Jones. He has also co-written projects with David Walliams, Steve Punt and Barry Cryer. He has written scripts for radio and TV, working on the BAFTA award-winning Balamory, Tweenies and Noel’s House Party, having also been nominated in BAFTA’s ‘Best Writer’ category for the TV adaptation of stage play Shorten Curlies. Nigel has also written two original plays in ITV Wales’ Sherman Theatre series, and SitCom work on the Gogglewatch series.
Nigel broadcasts frequently on BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio 4. His articles have featured both in print and online, including The Western Mail, Welsh Living and Menz Magazine and Private Eye. He has also written a number of original plays, which have been performed at numerous different theatres and venues across Wales and England.
Nigel has a BA Honours degree in English Language & Literature from the University of Reading, and between 2006 and 2010 lectured on the English and Creative Writing BA Honours Degree course at UWIC.
