Born in Aberdare in 1964 and brought up in the South Wales Valleys, Lorraine has recently moved to Llanwrtyd Wells in Powys and has become an enthusiastic member of The Irfon Valley Writers Group. She writes poetry, micro fiction and short stories and has won several small Eisteddfod prizes for literature.

Between 2003 and 2006, Lorraine worked on an international poetry anthology organised by Kimberly Drone and published by Jera Publishing. The Poetry Pages: A Collection of Voices From Around the World series offered previously unpublished international poets an opportunity to collaborate in a project designed to celebrate the huge variety of writing styles that were becoming apparent at Poetrypages.com. Participation was by invitation only and each author was asked to submit a collection of fifteen pieces. The original project lasted for three years and totalled six volumes.

In 2006 Lorraine went on to publish her first solo collection, Duct Tape and Daffodyls through Diggory Press (an imprint of Exposure Publishing). She is currently editing a second collection: The Wasted Philosopher, which will be available for Kindle download by early summer 2011. To read a selection of her poems, click here.

Lorraine also has a regular poetry slot in the Rhosgoch Gossip (primary school newspaper) and was the instigator for Irfon Valley Writers Group’s Annual Literary Competition, a poetry and short story contest which adopts the National Poetry Day annual theme.
