Aimé grew up in the Congo and is studying Psychology & Sociology at Swansea University. His poetry has appeared in Hafan Books Anthologies, and he has recently published his first solo volume with them. Entitled Reciprocities / Réciprocités (Hafan Books, 2009), this collection is in both English and French, and explores contemporary African politics with artwork by Mary Hayman and an afterword by Sadhbh O’Dwyer. Aimé writes bilingual free verse, often about contemporary African politics and war, and finding a refuge in love in Wales. His poetic voice is quietly unsettling.
