Paul is a former councillor, lecturer, analyst programmer and Labour councillor (one of the Cardiff Eight) for Canton and Riverside. He began writing as a single parent in 1999 and is currently working on two literary projects as well as writing short stories for English Grammar books in China. Paul has recently published ’The Path Transcendent’, a 1200pp dark fiction trilogy set in a South Wales Valleys town where the mines have long since closed and unemployment and drug abuse are rife. The town has a reputation as the most haunted place in Europe, which the local council exploits to create a new and unique tourist industry.
The second book of his second trilogy (‘Shrines’), entitled Changeling (Wuggles Publishing), is due for publication in 2010. Paul has also published two collections of poetry, Hissing Missionaries (P.D.E. Mitchell, 1999) and the forthcoming The Long Grim Book of Thin (Wuggles Publishing). Meanwhile, the feared Sheppards move to renew their old vendetta with the Lewises leading to a final, fatal confrontation with Thomas Lewis and his extraordinary niece.

Lever (The Path Transcendent Trilogy) (P.D.E. Mitchell, 2009)
Pontybrenin now hosts several conferences a year on the supernatural but, naturally, the local churches are less than pleased to see the streets filled with minority religionists, pagans, druids and the devotees of a new and powerful Masonic cult: The Church of The All-Seeing Eye (whose logo appears on the covers) discover their founder is opening a doorway for his Master, Satan, an Ultimate Predator, to cross over. Only Thomas Lewis and his niece, Gemma, can stop Ashcroft - if only they can get away from the cameras, cultists, secret service agents, local clergy, drug dealers and - worst of all - the talent scouts…

Pontybrenin is uneasy with its new prosperity. The Church of the All-Seeing Eye has changed into the House of All Faith and becomes a world-wide cult phenomenon, declaring Thomas and Gemma Lewis to be Living Prophets. Sir John Fomault, the Head of the UK’s Department of Security, unleashes a sinister press campaign against them and kidnaps Amy Lewis, Thomas’s eldest daughter, for medical experimentation. With the whole world turning against them, Thomas and Gemma, their family and friends set out to rescue Amy and confront a threat known as the Aberration, little realising that Thomas is about to take his last step on the Path Transcendent
