POOK, JOHN

John was born in Neath and grew up in Gowerton. He studied at Queen’s College, Cambridge and later gained an MA in Linguistics from University College, Bangor. John’s work has been published in many journals over the years, including most recently in Cambria. He won the Eric Gregory Award for Poetry in 1971 and was a runner-up in the 2001 Bridport Prize. His first collection, That Cornish Facing Door was published by Gomer in 1975. He now lives in the South of France.
