John was born in Abergavenny and is a writer of weird and macabre fiction. He has had over forty short stories published in both anthologies and periodicals including SciFantastic Nocturne, Fusing Horizons, Horror Express, Here & Now, Supernatural Tales, Dark Horizons and Thriller UK. John loves playing Beethoven sonatas on his piano, dining in exquisitely beautiful company at a fashionable restaurant, or being measured by one of his tailors for the latest item to add to his wardrobe. His first collection of short stories, The Faculty of Terror (Gray Friar Press, 2006), won the Children of the Night Award 2006 for best work of gothic literature. John’s recent collection of short stories entitled Coffin Nails was published by the Canadian based Ash-Tree Press in 2008, and his first novel was published by Screaming Dreams in late 2009.

He also writes about film and his most recent essays, on the work of British directors Robert Hartford Davies and Peter Walker, may be found in Dark Scribe Press' book Butcher Knives and Body Counts: Essays on the Formula, Frights and Fun of the Slasher Film.
