WALSH, LOUISE
Louise is from Penylan in Cardiff. She studied Archaeology at Cardiff University and whilst studying, got hooked on boxing. She took up serious boxing training after graduating, and was spotted by seven-time World Champion Steve Robinson.
Louise then worked as a contract archaeologist, eventually returning to Cardiff to work as a legal secretary. She took some time out of training at Gelligaer amateur boxing gym to write a novel which follows a female boxer from Cardiff. Drawing loosely on her own experiences, the novel deals with loneliness and social identity as well as boxing. She is currently working on her second novel. Louise is a Member of Academi.
