Gareth ClawayAs a teenager, Gareth was educated in Abersychan. He later became an English teacher at the same school, and has been writing poetry, drama and fiction ever since. His work is inspired by his experiences in the education system, and also by popular culture. Gareth is the Poet-in-Residence for Bristol City Football Club. His recent novel, River Deep, Mountain High (Bluechrome, 2008) is based on an earlier play and follows a group of unsatisfied teachers in their day-to-day lives at a Welsh Comprehensive. Gareth has lived in Norfolk since 1986 and is Head of English at Smithdon High School, Hunstanton. He is a Member of Academi.
