After realising he did not have the voice of Tom Jones or the football skills of Ryan Giggs, David Williams became a writer. Born in 1972 in Welshpool, he was brought up in Guilsfield and launched his journalism career with North Wales Newspapers before moving to the Middle East in 1997 as sports editor of the Gulf Today in Dubai.
A shift in career to Public Relations and Media Relations has seen David work on some of the Middle East’s biggest sporting events as well as the Manchester Commonwealth Games, in 2002. These days, David works as an advisor to HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, brother of Jordan’s King Abdullah II. His first thriller was published by Apex Publishing in May 2008.
The book has been widely acclaimed by journalists, celebrities and fellow authors alike and became one of the biggest sporting thrillers of 2008. David is currently putting the final touches to his second book.

Desert England is a fast paced football thriller set to become one of the most controversial sporting novels of recent times. The year is 2000 and England is involved in a dramatic battle with sworn enemies Germany to stage the 2006 World Cup and the billions of pounds in revenue that it would bring. England has the edge: strong government support, superb stadiums and a football-mad nation
desperate to re-live the success of Euro 96. There’s just one thing that stands in England’s way - the ’English disease’ more commonly known as football hooliganism. With just months before FIFA makes its crucial decision, rampaging followers of the national team have wreaked havoc across Europe and the fate of the nation’s dreams has been placed in the hands of one man, Detective Inspector, John Milton. Milton embarks on a violent pursuit across the continent to capture the generals orchestrating the foot soldiers. His chase finally leads him to the oasis paradise of Dubai where he uncovers something more sinister than he could have ever imagined. Already described as a "...spectacular book with a wicked twist..." one reviewer described Desert England as "...an original, entertaining football thriller firmly positioned in blockbuster territory..."
