Retired educationist, Lloyd has been a secondary school teacher and departmental head, a Teachers’ Centre warden, tutor–producer in a County Educational Technology Centre and County Museums Education Officer. He was born in Merthyr Tydfil and educated at Bangor Normal College, University of Bristol and University of Wales Aberystwyth. Lloyd has published articles in several papurau bro [Welsh–language community newspapers]; Y Casglwr (Cymdeithas Bob Owen) and Ystrad Alun (Mold & District Civic Society) including papers entitled ’Daniel in Extremis’ / ’Daniel dan Bwysau’ (Ystrad Alun, 2005 and Y Casglwr, 2006) and ’Digio Daniel a Blino’r Blaenoriai’ [Daniel Dismayed, Deacons Distraught] (Ystrad Alun, 2000) which is based on the 1992 lecture in the series organised by the Daniel Owen Memorial Room Committee, Mold. He is editor of Treuddyn Past & Present / Treuddyn Ddoe a Heddiw (2002) for the Treuddyn (Flintshire) Millennium Committee.
