Maria Donovan was born in West Dorset and lived in Holland for several years training to be a nurse. She travelled around Europe with several forms of vocations but she decided to study creative writing at the University of Glamorgan. After graduation she moved to Llandaff and has been teaching fiction and non–fiction at Glamorgan while also working towards an M.Phil. in Writing. She is now a creative writing lecturer at the University and lived in Ceredigion for some time, before recently moving to Cheshire. Maria’s short stories have appeared in Mslexia and New Welsh Review and her ultra–short fiction is published by the-phone-book.com. Her biography of Megan Lloyd is published in Sideways Glances, edited by Jeni Williams. Maria’s short story ‘My Own CVA’ was a prizewinner in the Lancet end of year 2007 fiction special.
