GRIFFIN, CHAS
Chas moved to Brynsaron Farm, just north of Landysul in Carmarthenshire from Nottingham with his wife Anne in 1982. Diagnosed with ME in 1985, Chas continued to maintain the farm until 1997. He initially started writing a column for The Organic Way in 1989 and when he and his wife retired in 1997, Chas was encouraged to compile a book on their experiences at the farm. He paid Gomer to publish a run of 2000 copies, and the book was so popular it was re–printed by Edbury in 2005. Scenes from a Smallholding became Waterstone’s Paperback of the Year, Waterstone’s Welsh Book of the Month and Chas was voted amazon.co.uk’s Welsh Author of the Month.
