Taff was born in 1959 in South Wales, and has had an illustrious and varied career in both the Royal Air Force and the I.T industry. He returned to the U.K after spending four years in Oregon, USA, in the late 1990s, and now resides with his family in a small village in Lincolnshire. Taff takes his inspiration from the world of fantasy, and cites Tolkien, Phillip Pullman and Edgar Rice Burroughs, as some of his influences. His first novel in the Portal Chronicles Series was published in January 2006, with two more to follow in 2007and 2008.
