Born in New Tredegar (upper Rhymney Valley) and educated at Coleg Harlech, UCNW Bangor, Arwyn received an External MPhil at Cardiff. His first first collection of mainstream poetry was published in 2003. He is Adult Education Co–ordinator at Crumlin, Oakdale and Blackwood Community Colleges (Caerphilly County Borough). Arwyn retired on the 31st May 2005. In March 2002, he took part in the Swansea Festival of Japanese Arts discussion on haiku writing in Wales followed by readings. Arwyn has been running regular poetry workshops and storytelling at Blackwood Primary School since 1998 and more recently at three other local schools. His mainstream poetry has been published in Roundyhouse Magazine, Borderlines (Journal of Anglo–Welsh Poetry Society) and other magazines. His haiku and haibun has also been published in Blithe Spirit (Journal of British Haiku Society) and Presence Haiku Magazine.
