Nick Fisk is the editor of Cardiff-based poetry and writers' magazine, Square, born from the Square Writers' Circle. A poet himself, he has a fondness for performance. He was one of 4 poets to represent Wales in the first ever tri-nations poetry slam in 2006, in which Wales came 2nd (beating England into 3rd!). In 2009 was a finalist in the John Tripp Award for Spoken Poetry. He describes his poetry as "not as cheap as Tesco Value but not as pretentious as Tesco Finest".
He has self-published 7 books of poetry, including his latest book, Depature Lounge 25, which is "the single before the album", Depature Lounge 58 (May 2010). Under the banner of Square Books, he has also published a book by one of Cardiff and Wales's greatest, but perhaps least recognised poets, J Brookes, entitled The Dresden Cantata. Nick is currently seeking bookings as he thinks he hasn't done enough readings. Anyone seeking to book him might like to consider a Fisk/Brookes combined booking.
