Sarah CorbettPoet. Sarah was born in Chester in 1970 and grew up in rural north Wales. She studied at Leeds University and the University of East Anglia, where she obtained a masters degree in poetry on the prestigious writing programme. She has been published in The Independent, The Rialto, Poetry Review, Iron, Scratch, Poetry London, and Poetry Wales. Sarah received an Eric Gregory Award in 1997. A year later, The Red Wardrobe was nominated for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection and shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize. Poems from the collection have been made into a short film. A selection of her translations of the Dutch poet Mustafa Stitou were published in Uit Het Hoofd / By Heart (Five Leaves, 2006). Sarah is currently working on a verse novel as part of a PhD at the University of Manchester.
